CALIM 2010: The 5th SKA Workshop

on Calibration and Imaging

General

The workshop will be held at ASTRON, near Dwingeloo (The Netherlands), located about 200 km from Amsterdam Airport, and 50 km south of Groningen.

People are expected to arrive on Sunday (22 August). There will be a welcoming reception at the hotel around 18:00.

The workshop will begin on Monday morning (23 August) and the official program will finish on Thursday afternoon (26 August). It will consist of presentation sessions and possibly some discussion sessions. A small number of review talks will be presented, combined with contributed talks focusing on the topics of the Workshop.

On Wednesday afternoon an excursion is planned to the LOFAR site, followed by the conference dinner.

On Friday (27th) and Saturday (28th) there will be room for in-depth discussions among small groups of die-hards. There will also be the possibility to play with LOFAR data. Details will follow.

Registration and abstract submission

Please register through the meeting web site using the 'Registration' link above. Registration closes on July 1st 2010.

Participation is by invitation only and will be limited to about 50. Late registrations and late abstracts may be accepted by the LOC & SOC when space is available.

Abstract submission closes on July 15th 2010.

Those who require a visa to travel to The Netherlands should indicate this at registration. ASTRON can provide a letter of invitation to attend this workshop.

Accommodation

We have secured all rooms (42) of the hotel De Borken in the nearby hamlet Lhee.

Room rate:
- 8 budget rooms: 50 Euro per single room per night inclusive breakfast
- 27 standard rooms: 65 Euro per single room per night inclusive breakfast
- 8 business rooms: 70 Euro per single room per night inclusive breakfast
City tax: 1,50 Euro per night per person

It is also possible to rent a bicycle (8,50 Euro per day) when you make your reservation. This is highly recommended. After all, this is the Netherlands.
