The talks start at ~3:30pm in the Colloquiumzaal, take about 45 minutes (+10 minutes discussion) and are followed by a small reception ("borrel") in the adjacent canteen.
* If you would like to attend one of the scheduled colloquia, please contact the colloquium organizers at least one week before the date of the colloquium that you are interested in. Please respect the special regulations during your visit in the radio‑quiet zone (see below).
* Shortly after you have confirmed the day of your colloquium with the colloquium organizers, your talk will be added to the colloquium schedule.
* About two weeks before the date of your colloquium, the organizer in charge of your colloquium will discuss the logistical details with you (travel, accomodation, wireless guest account etc.) and ask you for the final title of your talk and an abstract. The colloquium talks are usually advertized on our Daily Image webpage. Please send a nice figure from your talk in addition to the title and the abstract to your organizer at least 3 working days before the day of your colloquium and s/he will be happy to take care of the rest.
* The reception ("borrel") after the colloquium usually features alcoholic and non‑alcoholic drinks and assorted party nuts. Please let us know well in advance if you have any special dietary requirements.
* Information about how to get to ASTRON and JIVE can be found here. If you arrive by airplane at Amsterdam‑Schiphol, we recommend taking the train over hiring a rental car. Traffic jams in the area around Amsterdam‑Shiphol can be severe. The train station is right in the airport terminal and direct train connections between the airport and Hoogeveen make this the most convenient and comfortable way to travel to Dwingeloo. An English version of the Dutch train schedule is available here. Please tell your local contact the time of your arrival in Hoogeveen and s/he will be happy to arrange for a taxi ("Taxi Ellerie") to take you from Hoogeveen station to ASTRON and JIVE headquarters (a ~20min. ride).
* If you plan to stay overnight in the guest house, you may find this webpage useful.
* Please note that the ASTRON headquarters are located in a radio‑quiet zone. Mobile phones have to be switched off and access by motor vehicles is restricted in order to avoid interference with the operations of the 25‑m Dwingeloo Telescope.
