Extra-planar Gas

Dwingeloo, The Netherlands

7-11 June 2004

While traditional studies of the ISM in galaxies have focused on processes within the high density disk, recent observations are opening a window on processes far above the disk which are intimately related to galaxy evolution such as: galactic-scale outflows driven by massive star formation, tidal disruption of satellites, continuing accretion of low mass companions, and the interaction between the AGN jet and the ISM. Current progress in documenting and understanding these processes will be the focus of the meeting.
