Meeting Venue:

The meeting is being hosted by ASTRON (www.astron.nl), the national institute for astronomy instrumentation in the Netherlands. The observatory office building (and meeting room) are located about 3 km from the town of Dwingeloo. Information on how to reach the observatory can be found in the "Visit us" link of the ASTRON web page.

Registration:

The registration deadline is 1 March 2004. A maximum of 80 participants can be accommodated. The scientific program and list of participants will be defined based on the abstract submissions received by this date. If more than the maximum number of participants have registered, the SOC will decide on meeting participation. All registrations will be acknowledged by 15 March 2004. Late registration will be possible through 1 May 2004, but only to the extent that the maximum attendance has not yet been exceeded. The registration fee (220 Euros) will include a half-day boating excursion and informal Dutch pancake dinner on Wednesday, 9 June, the conference dinner on the evening of Thursday,10 June, as well as a copy of the conference proceedings.

Accomodation:

Advance bookings have been made at a number of local hotels which are listed below. Hotel reservations are all being looked after by the Dwingeloo tourist information office (the VVV Dwingeloo). Hotel information and bookings can be made by e-mail correpondence with:

where you should make mention of "ASTRON June 2004" to obtain the special low hotel rates (listed below) that have been arranged. The advance bookings will expire on 1 May 2004.

UPDATE: 10-March-2004 The above prices have been corrected and are for single occupancy of a double room. If you choose to share a room prices will drop (to 35.00 for De Borken, 32.00 at De Drift and 27.70 at Het Rustige Heuveltje).

Local Transportation:

There is no public transportation available between the town of Dwingeloo and the observatory building (3 km separation). A pleasant mode of transport is by bicycle which can be rented for a modest fee. Please indicate your wish to rent a bicycle on the registration form and we will make the necessary reservations.
