Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy
ASTRON-NOVA booth at Photonics Event 2011
Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 March 2011
Please find here our leaflet about the opportunities to apply our advanced facilities and know-how to your applications.
ASTRON and NOVA's mission is to make discoveries in astronomy happen, via the development of novel and innovative technologies, and to carry out front-line astronomical research.
We are working on the development and deployment of large phased-array based radio telescopes like the Square Kilometer Array (SKA), ASTRON develops microwave photonic signal processing subsystems. The NOVA Competence Center in Dwingeloo develops infra-red optical systems.
At the Photonics Event, we show our photonics beam forming demonstrators. Additionally, our latest developments on infrared spectroscopic systems for the world's most advanced space and ground-based telescopes like the European Extremely Large Telescope are on display. Examples are shown of opto-mechanical precision systems including cryogenic systems.
