The Connect Industry, Science & Society (CISS) workshop is an initiative to bring together representatives from around the world that act at the interfaces between the SKA project and industry, educational institutes and society as a whole. The workshop will be organised by Sensor Universe, a regional innovation platform in the Netherlands that connects research institutes, industry and technical schools around the topic of sensor technology solutions, addressing major societal issues such as mobility and energy. The workshop will build upon, and further develop, the deliverables of the COST project: "Benefits of Research Infrastructures beyond Science". In particular, the unique selling aspects of the SKA for both industry and society will take centre stage. The workshop will focus on the process of building the relevant bridges between the different partners to make maximum use of these unique cross-over points. The intended audience includes governmental technology transfer officers, directors of facilitating entities like Electronics KTN in the UK, deans of technical schools and Education and Public Outreach (EPO) officers. Around 35 people are expected to attend. The main objective will be to discuss and distil best practice, and further advance knowledge transfer within the context of the SKA.
The CISS workshop is by invitation only.
Participants of the Science Conference, CISS workshop or Agencies SKA Meeting are invited to the ISKAF2010 dinner on 14 June in Groningen. Other guests are by invitation only.
