I seem to remember that one can somehow run things from with ddd etc to find obscure problems like this!
Yes, that's very easy now, just pick the 'Attach binary debugger to kernel' option from the "Debug" menu of the browser. That'll start ddd for you. Press "c" to continue and then proceed to crash the browser...
