John McKean

Welcome to my homepage! I am a Staff Astronomer within the Astronomy Group of the Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy (ASTRON) and a Professor of Radio Astronomy at the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute, University of Groningen.

I study galaxy formation and test models for dark matter using strong gravitational lensing. I am also interested in the environmental dependence of active galactic nuclei/star-formation activity, and the cosmic evolution of core dominated radio sources. Details of my research activities can be found here.
