Using digifil from DSPSR, one can create a single filterbank file from PuMaII baseband data.

Overlapping bands

One of the standard PuMaII timing setups uses 8 overlapping bands to get uniform bandpass coverage. In that case, use splice-removeoverlap, a modified version of splice in SIGPROC, to stitch these band together. This currently only runs on LOFAR CEP, but can probably be compiled on PuMaII if there is enough interest (email Joeri).

Ramesh has written scripts to find Giant Pulses (GPs) in PuMaII data. They can be used as follows:
On master, make a copy of /home/pulsar/GiantPulse/20Jan2012_CRAB:

cd GiantPulse
cp -r 20Jan2012_CRAB <newname>
cd <newname>

Edit the file Mmdspsr-single.0531+21.21cm.nchan and change:

setup storage nodes

Set up storage nodes, and check if there’s enough storage space. See this topic below.

start PuMa-II client

	*  check if client running
  master:/home/pulsar> ps -aef | grep puma2cmi
  pulsar    6751     1  0 Sep30 ?        00:00:01 /usr/bin/python ./puma2cmi.py
  pulsar   21870 25167  0 11:30 pts/8    00:00:00 grep puma2cmi
	* if the client is not running, do the following.

Check if there is a signal on the optical cables, by visually checking the orange cables in the back of the storage nodes. There will be a signal after/during a pulsar observation or VLBI observation.

Login to the node to be tested.
