TU Delft, the Netherlands

Second NLAP Annual Meeting

Dear reader,

It is with great pleasure that we announce the second NLAP (Netherlands Low frequency radio Astronomy Platform) meeting to be held on the 26th of November at the TU Delft.

The purpose of these annual meetings is to keep each other updated on various projects and proposals on both technical and scientific aspects and we would like to encourage people from both science and industry to join. The aim for the NLAP is to become a truly European platform, we already have a number of international participants, but we welcome more people to join. The theme for this year's meeting, and the reason it is being held at the TU Delft, will be nano-sats and swarm technology and we would like to highlight both the science and the technical aspects of this theme. As last year, the organisation of the day is fairly open and we have only a limited number of fixed items/speakers on the agenda in order to keep the possibility for discussion. We plan to organise these discussion around certain thematic sessions and allow all participants to present their work, idea's or results. The preliminary agenda is listed below.

  • 10:00-10:15 - Opening, collection of possible speakers/contributers
  • 10:15-10:45 - Key lecture Prof. E. Gill,  Nanosats & Swarm Technology
  • 10:45-12:30 - Technical aspects of swarms and nanosats
  • 12:30-13:30 - Lunch
  • 13:30-15:30 - Science with swarms of nano sats
  • 15:30-16:30 - Future technical challenges / perhaps a selected topic on swarm technologies
