How to get there by car

The WSRT is located close to the village of Hooghalen in Drenthe, in the area of the ‘Voormalig Kamp Westerbork’. From this camp, during the Second World War, people were sent to the concentration camps.
Follow highway A28 to the north, past Amersfoort, Zwolle, Meppel and Hoogeveen. Take exit 31 for Westerbork. After the exit, turn left and after 200 metres take the exit that says ‘Voormalig Kamp Westerbork’. From there on, follow the signs that say ‘Voormalig Kamp Westerbork’.
Address of the WSRT: Schattenberg 1, 9433 TA Zwiggelte. Note that this is the formal address and that WSRT is closer to the village of Hooghalen. Also, you cannot trust your navigation as this may point you into to unpaved roads in the forest! The entrance to the WSRT is next to the parking of Herinneringscentrum Kamp Westerbork and will be marked by signs.

Parking: you can park your car between telescope 4 and the 'bouwhal'. This spot will be marked. For a route description to the WSRT, click here.

 

How to get there by public transport

If you arrive by train, you can use the time table of the Dutch trains. The nearest railway station is Beilen.
The LOC has arranged FREE TRANSPORTATION BY BUS from Beilen railway station to the WSRT in the morning and back to Beilen railway station after the dinner.

 

The schedule of the bus times is as follows:
Upon arrival in the morning:
09:40 departure railway station Beilen to WSRT
10:05 departure railway station Beilen to WSRT

In the evening:
20:50 departure WSRT to railway station Beilen
21:25 departure WSRT to railway station Beilen
21:50 departure WSRT to railway station Beilen .
