the 40th anniversary of the
Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope

22 October 2010, Westerbork (NL)

Programme

The scientific programme for the WSRT@40 mini-symposium is composed of 4 technical and 5 astronomical themes. For each theme we have, on average, about 40min available. The contents - topics and speakers - of each theme will be organized by one or more convenors whose names is indicated below.
The full programme of talks is now available as pdf-file.

The mini-symposium will start at 10:30 and finish shortly after 18:00. From 18:00-18:30 there is a reception for participants of the mini-symposium and all ASTRON and JIVE staff. The evening programme will start with the featuring of the ISKAF2010 movie. For that reason, we would like everybody to be present at 18.30 hrs.

  • The successive generations of receivers and backends (Jaap Bregman)
  • The dedicated online and offline software and algorithms (Jan Noordam)
  • The special-purpose applications and facilities (Arnold van Ardenne)

The 5 astronomical themes are:
