e-VLBI test and science observations, 18th-19th May

| Description: | On 18 May 2006 we achieved e-VLBI fringes at a datarate of 256 Mbit/s with six EVN telescopes (CmJbMcOnTrWb) simultaneously (fringes shown above). Then we produced the first ever European fringes at 512 Mbit/s, on the Westerbork-Jodrell Bank baseline (not shown). The test was followed by a 13 hours science experiment, that run at 128 Mbit/s during the night, without major problems. The inset shows pipeline image of a calibrator source from this run. |
