| Description: | Since 2005 ASTRON is using NorthStar to handle WSRT, JCMT, WHT, and INT proposals to the Dutch Program Comittee ( http://proposal.astron.nl ). Early 2006 MERLIN started using NorthStar ( http://proposal.merlin.ac.uk ) and so far three more institutes have asked ASTRON to develop a version for handling their proposal submissions: EVN ( demo version http://proposal.jive.nl ), MPIfR (for the Effelsberg telescope), and JAC (initially for the UKIRT service program), all expected to be available later this year. In the future LOFAR proposals will be submitted through NorthStar as well.
The Northstar application has been developed at ASTRON as part of the EC-funded RadioNet project. Shown is a compilation of the respective webpages from where astronomers start the preparation of proposals for observing time.
