A Gaussian Swallows a Focal Plane Array Beam

| Description: | This movie shows the behaviour of The MeqTree Solver as we solve for the position of a focal plane array beam. The images show the difference between the best-guess Gaussian and the actual beam. The first image shows the initial guess for the Gaussian (red) minus the beam (blue), so a hole appears at the position of the beam. As the solver iterates toward a solution the Gaussian moves toward the beam and eventually appears to swallow it. - Maaijke Mevius and Tony Willis |
