In tune with the season, the radome is shaped like a cucumber, or 'komkommer' in the quaint but charming Dutch language. The abovementioned Kabouter Plop is a mythical hero who embodies the traditional, but little-known, Dutch virtues. The original Kabouters were small in stature, but a rigorous process of natural selection (all the short ones got themselves drowned) have made the present-day inhabitants of the lowlands the tallest race in the world. With global warming, this process can only continue. |
