Founding fathers in Veldhoven

Submitter: Michel Arts
Description: Many cities in the Netherlands have a neighbourhood where streets are named after stars, planets and constellations. The city of Veldhoven in the province of Noord-Brabant is no exception. But if you take a closer look at a city map of Veldhoven you will not only see stars and constellations but also the names of three men who can be considered the founding fathers of dutch radio astronomy. Is it a coincidence that the the Benelux Cross Antenna (see daily image http://www.astron.nl/dailyimage/main.php?date=20080222 ) was planned on the Belgium border near this part of the Netherlands?
