Description: | During Hanny van Arkel's visit to ASTRON, we were happy to see several young people in the audience. One of these was Dana Josza, daughter of Gyula Josza (support scientist of the Radio Observatory). At the reception she showed quite some interest in LOFARconfiguration studies - in particular she demonstrated that they can be easily stacked on top of one another, at least 4 elements high without toppling! Exactly what this 3-D receptor means in terms of imaging capability is as yet unclear (another challenge for MeqTrees perhaps?), but it certainly brings a new meaning to the concept of a densely-filled uv-plane!
