Description: | At the end of June, three members of the EMBRACE team went to Nançay in France to build the second Expanded PolyStyrene Radôme. Apart from some upgrades, it is similar to the first radôme, which was placed near the WSRT last year. Together, the radômes will protect 224 (144 + 80) square meters of Aperture Array. At this moment the first 144 tiles are being placed at Westerbork. EMBRACE is part of the EC FP6 funded SKA Design Studies. |
