EXPReS project hailed as Extraordinarily Successful

| Description: | The EXPReS management team delivered the final project report to the European Commission in November. In the first photo, project manager T. Charles Yun delivers part of the bound report to a surprised Jean-Luc Dorel, EC science officer. "This is the first of twelve," svelte Charles declared jokingly. Subsequent photos show Zsolt Paragi presenting the science portion of the report and Charles presenting the management portion. Independent of the heft of the reading materials, the EC declared EXPReS as "extraordinarily successful" in connecting telescopes and making e-VLBI a regular, reliable and robust service available to the global community of radio astronomers. The EC also stated that the success of EXPReS "will inform the design of future facilities such as the SKA" and encouraged the project team to "explore any opportunity for further development."
