The first remote LOFAR busy week

Submitter: George Heald and Ger van Diepen
Description: Last week, the first LOFAR Busy Week to be held outside of ASTRON was organized by the Survey KSP. The workshop was hosted in Leiden's Lorentz Center. The busy week group numbered about 25 people, most of whom had participated in previous busy weeks. The group worked in a "divide and conquer" mode to test the main components of the LOFAR Standard Imaging Pipeline.

Today's image shows a few scenes from the busy week: the busy weekers at work in the Lorentz Center (top), and more importantly, enjoying well-deserved relaxation during the off hours. The bottom left frame shows the moment during the workshop dinner when our host Huub Röttgering spoke - or rather delegated the task to others in the room! The dinner itself was held in the impressive and historic Regentenkamer.

The busy week resulted in many interesting problems, as well as some impressive images ... stay tuned.
