| Description: | Universe Awareness (UNAWE) is an astronomy education and outreach programme for very young underprivileged children around the world. UNAWE is different from other programmes in that it has a strong social agenda. In a few years UNAWE has grown into a vibrant international community whose impact on society is already measurable. I will present the programme, some of the results acquired recently and discuss how such a programme can be evaluated.
