Description: | Having nothing better to do (all my time-sheets being filled in, and there being very few Images of the Day submitted), I leafed idly through the school atlas of my children. Unbeknownst to most school children (and their parents), these things are remarkably informative, for all ages and persuasions. The page shown here illustrates the various kinds of maps that can be made of the same area. This is interesting enough in itself, but lo and behold, by some cosmic coincidence, they picked the area of the LOFAR core! The atlas is the Grote Bosatlas, 51th edition (1995), published by Wolters Noordhof, Groningen, The Netherlands. Enjoy. |
