Description: | LOFAR at its lowest frequencies sees the whole sky, including the very bright sources CasA and CygA. These need to be subtracted for best results. ASTRON software (BBS, written by Joris van Zwieten, Ger van Diepen et al.) now implements calibration in different directions in the sky, which has been tested during an Imaging busy week. The figure shows the effect of the resulting subtraction of CasA and CygA from observations of the radio source 3C465. |
