| Description: | The Joint European and National Astronomy Meeting (JENAM 2010) was held from 6 to 10 September at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. A number of astronomers from ASTRON and JIVE participated at this "European week of Astronomy and Space science". Many of them presented their results at some the symposia that were organised during the week, in particular "Environment and the Formation of Galaxies" and "The Square Kilometre Array: Paving the way for the new 21st century radio astronomy paradigm". ASTRON and RadioNet were also present with two booths and the AAVP had also a display there. An Embrace tile (that will now stay in Portugal for tests) was also on display. SKA appeared quite prominent in this JENAM. In addition to the symposium dedicated to presenting the diverse opportunities that the SKA will provide for new science, there was also a presentation of the project by Richard Schilizzi during the plenary session. |
