LOFAR roll out in Onsala Sweden

| Description: | The roll-out of the LOFAR station in Sweden makes good progress. Several employees of the Onsala Space Observatory, with support of ASTRON colleagues, are installing the LOFAR High Band Antennas (HBA). The installation takes 4 weeks. 25 large-volume trucks are needed to deliver the 96 antennas and tooling on-site. The electronics have already been installed in the shielded container by Henri Meulman and a team of Isiterra. The Onsala Space Observatory is trying to have this station up and running before the summer holidays. |
