| Description: | On the 10th of July, the LofarTafel organised "LOFARdag" - an opportunity to explain the various aspects of the LOFAR project to the local community around Exloo, Borger and the surrounding area. ASTRON was well represented with Albert-Jan Boonstra (suitably equipped with the latest form of sun protection) and Peter Benemma talking to the 600+ people that visited the LOFAR fields, and Roy Smits bravely manning the hugely popular NOVA planetarium show. All three were kept busy for the whole day.
Lofardag was a huge success for all concerned - full credit must go to our friends of the LofarTafel - especially Ben te Nijenhuis and Martha Buitenkamp (Martha even found time to dress up as a beaver - see images above!). |
