| Description: | May 8th, 2012, ASTRON hosted its first `Student Meet & Greet' in which fourteen of the students we supervise either directly or indirectly came together to meet each other and the members of the Astronomy Group. The students came from as nearby as Lhee and as far away as Germany. There were not only astronomy PhD students present, but also students working on more technical projects, reflecting the broad range of activities at ASTRON. After a round table of introductions and short research discussions we moved to more informal discussion over drinks and borrelhapjes.
The next student event will be this summer and will feature a mini-symposium and BBQ. What could be better than radio astronomy and burgers? |
