Todays Colloquium: An extreme IDV quasar and a peculiar Seyfert galaxy: Clues about their nature from VLBI

| Description: | I will discuss briefly the progress that has been made with the analysis of multi-epoch space VLBI data on the extreme IDV quasar J1819+38. I will move on to discuss new VLBI observations of the peculiar Seyfert galaxy, Markarian 6, and our search for a flat-spectrum radio core in this source. I will conclude with a brief discussion on where things stand with our understanding of these "radio-quiet" AGN in the larger scheme of AGN. |
