Aperture Array Design and Construction consortium meeting

Description: Currently a very productive AADC meeting is ongoing at ASTRON, Dwingeloo from 3 till 5 December.

We are entering a new era when working as the AADC Consortium on the Low Frequency Aperture Array (LFAA) Element of the Square Kilometre Array, which will drive and focus the structure of our work towards SKA1. The short term focus points are:

  • Improving the level 1 requirements (ready 1 February 2014)
  • System Requirements Review (SRR) in September 2014
  • Critical design review (CDR) at the end of 2016.

    The items on the agenda are:

  • SKA1 requirements and the LFAA baseline design
  • Time line, project planning, reporting, project environment etc.
  • Work package descriptions and plans by Task Leaders
  • Status of the current engineering work
  • Interfaces with other elements (data transport, correlator, infrastructure, telescope management, etc..)
  • Prototypes (AAVS0.5 and AAVS1)
