Description: | Last July, the longest total lunar eclipse of the 21st century was visible from Europe. This total lunar eclipse occurred near Moonrise and hence near Sunset. As the fully eclipsed Moon rose it exited the Earth's shadow, which gave a great display of the change in sky color from twilight, to a starry night sky, to one completely washed out by the full Moon.
This sequence of images shows the rising Moon pass behind the Dwingeloo telescope at 10 minute intervals, revealing the drastic change in the color of the sky.
