SCADA Conference Europe 2019 (Milan)

| Description: | This year, ASTRON was present at the SIMATIC SCADA Conference Europe 2019 (formerly WinCC OA User Days, it is the new community event combined the WinCC Specialists conferences and the WinCC OA User Days). Together with 400 other experts from more than 30 nations we followed keynote speeches and talks by various companies. To name a few: A2A (District heating in Milan), Coli Albani Gallery (High-speed rail), the National Centre of Oncological Hadrontherapy (the treatment of radio resistant tumors with an accelerator) and Cosylab (the European Extremely Large Telescope). During the conference we had the chance to catch up with some of our long-term friends at Croonwolter&dros, Vanderlande, ETM, Siemens, CERN, Gasunie and many others. We attended several trainings and workshops on the SIMATIC Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition portfolio. Besides, we attended detailed presentations of best practice applications by various partners. They showed how they handle Monitoring and Control on very large-scale projects. We had a peek at the future with feature packs and updates coming this year and beyond, like next generation Archiving, Doxygen, Mobile user interfaces, GIT support, Web Map Service integration, High Speed Programming, Encryption and Security and many more exciting improvements. It was a very productive 3 days in the beautiful city of Milan that gave us lots of great ideas and new Requirements for the LOFAR 2.0 / Navigator upgrade and ILT monitoring. |
