Note by Jan Noordam: We only moved into the luxurious new quarters in 1981, followed by even more sumptuous ones in 1996 and 2012. Until then, SRZM had been building and operating the magnificent radio telescopes in Dwingeloo and Westerbork from the old barracks on the left, which have now been demolished. All greatness begins in humble sheds and garages. |
