Description: | The JUMPING JIVE project aims to contribute towards a new era for VLBI applications, with the next generation radio instruments. The recently published A&ARv annual review by "SKA-VLBI focus group" members Maria J. Rioja and Richard Dodson, on innovative analysis techniques, provides crucial input to the "WP10: VLBI with SKA". In this work traditional and new analysis techniques are combined into ancommon framework, which paves the way to improve the astrometric accuracy by an order of magnitude: to 0.3 nano-degrees with SKA-VLBI and other next-generation instruments. Hence leading to innovative high-impact science possibilities across the full radio frequency spectrum, from 0.1 to 100 GHz. These techniques include the radio equivalent of that used by Andrea Ghez for her recent Nobel prize. |
