Description: | Towering excavation work of a mole at the LOFAR Superterp. Occasionally they dig underneath the ground mesh of an LBA, eventually tipping the antenna over. At the Superterp, this problem is more common than elsewhere. The theory is that they get onto the Superterp by means of the narrow access paths across the moat, but are not able to find their way back again. The solution is to handle a good old shovel. Multimeters and oscilloscopes are not the only tools required in the field. Also note the icy conditions on Monday delivering a very cold, but beautiful scenery. |
