New aerial image of the WSRT

| Description: | The yearly Dutch aerial photo of The Netherlands nicely features the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope (WSRT). This photo should make a nice desktop background, if you have an ultra-widescreen monitor. Apart from 14 telescopes, the image also features the monument De 102000 stenen. The source of the photo is here. The photos were taken early 2021. I downloaded the data through QGIS and adjusted the colors a bit. The original image has 10cm pixel size. The coordinate system of the aerial photos is the Rijksdriehoekscoördinaten (EPSG:28992), in which the x-coordinate is perfectly East-West at the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwetoren in Amersfoort. To align the image of the WSRT also East-West, I rotated it by about one degree. A fly-over of this image is available here. |
