| Description: | In the LBA-fields of LOFAR we suffer from severe weed growth, especially since the use of pesticides is banned. Mowing isn't possible near the base of the LBA antenna, allowing the roots of the plants to crush the coax cables. This asks for adequate measures; an cutting tool for these thick roots. But where to get such a device? You head to the nearest blacksmiths workshop and make one. It's always rewarding to make a hobby useful. |
