Fast radio bursts at the dawn of the 2020s

Submitter: Jason Hessels
Description: The study of fast radio bursts is advancing at an incredible pace, thanks to an increasingly large community of scientists working on the topic and groundbreaking new radio telescopes. In 2019, Emily Petroff, Dunc Lorimer and I wrote a review on the topic, simply called Fast radio bursts for The Astronomy and Astrophysics Review. That review is already out of date!

In an updated review, Fast radio bursts at the dawn of the 2020s, we focus on the latest observational breakthroughs, including: the discovery of an FRB source in our own Milky Way, a periodically active FRB, and an increasingly large sample of sources that have been pinpointed to their host galaxy.
