Earth Day 2022: what can YOU do?

See https://www.earthday.org/earth-day-2022/ for more general information on this day and its meaning. All around the globe, one traditional Earth Day activity is that of litter picking. At ASTRON, we are located on the edge of a unique part of The Netherlands, the national parc "Dwingelderveld". We're pretty sure that all ASTRON employees have at least once ventured into the parc during lunch break or any other free hour to enjoy its beauty, calmness and wonderful views. So why not help a hand to keep it clean and natural? And not just on this day, but every (working) day?! To assist that, BSS has purchased a pair of litter pickers and put them on a small table at the main entrance. You can simply take one with you on your walk. If you come across a plastic bag, a bottle, a can, a paper handkerchief, etc., just pick it up, put it in the (compostable) bag and bring it back to ASTRON to dispose it in the bin outside, at the front door. If we all keep doing that every day, and not just on Earth Day, we will be really helping nature and make a difference, if only locally! Your planet is worth it, there is only one Earth! |
