ICD LOFAR Field Trip

| Description: | Outreach is important for ASTRON as organization and can be very fun to do! So when the Innovatie Cluster Drachten (ICD), which ASTRON is a part of, asked us to organize a fieldtrip to our LOFAR Superterp we didn’t hesitate. On a beautiful Sunday afternoon we welcomed 30 employees of ICD affiliated organizations with a few family members who were alle interested in the hightech of LOFAR and the beautiful surroundings we’re lucky to have them. You can probably imagine that this is one of the best visited excursions of the ICD so far. Two skilled guides from the Drentsch Landschap took the group on an adventure of technical wonders and beautiful nature. Did you know that this LOFAR site also hosts beavers and otters? All in all our ICD ‘colleagues’ had a wonderful afternoon and learned a lot. |
