Description: | On June 22nd the renewed ‘Melkwegpad’ (Milky Way Path) was completed. Jorrit Siebenga and Sjouke Kuindersma placed the last few new signs for this path in Westerbork. For the occasion Marco de Vos was interviewed by RTV Drenthe’s Josien Feitsma on location. He explained how the new signs not only provide new information, but also in a less ‘schoolbook’ way: “In the last fifty years we’ve pimped the signs several times, but it was really necessary to come with new texts that give the most current information in a way that engages people the most.” The new signs have texts in Dutch on the one side and in English on the other side. The signs concerning planets have a small, 3D printed model of that planet in their centre.
