Description: | The NOVA optical-infrared instrumentation group, located at ASTRON, designs and manufactures instruments for optical and infrared telescopes. Several (parts of) instruments were delivered to their PI institute, or had first light in 2022. Most notably the MIRI instrument in the James Webb Space Telescope. At the moment, the focus of the group is on instrumentation for the Extremely Large Telescope. This required opening a NOVA dependance (NovaMax) with a large GROB milling machine, in order to be able to manufacture parts of these large ELT instruments. |
