| Description: | In the week of January 9th, 2023, ASTRON hosted four bright and motivated Bachelor students from the University of Amsterdam for a 2nd year research practicum. The students, Mara, Aniara, Bart and Jonathan, got a tour of the ASTRON facilities and learned how to analyse LOFAR pulsar data from scratch. They wrote their own code to determine the rotational rate of a binary pulsar and measured the properties of its orbit and stellar companion. And they succeeded!
After a few years of Covid, it was great to again host this annual event in person, in Dwingeloo. |
