Description: | Since starting science operations less than a year ago, the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is revolutionizing our view of the early Universe. With its unique capabilities, it is allowing us to study the first period of galaxy formation and evolution, which is essential to understand our Universe as we see it today. In this talk, I will explain the main characteristics that make the JWST such a special astronomical instrument. I will also review some of its first scientific results in the field and discuss the exciting open questions that we aim to address in the near future. |
