Waving “Course bye” to our RF lecturers

Submitter: Ronald Halfwerk and Simone Kajuiter
Description: Wi-Fi, Cellular, Bluetooth, RFID, 5G and many other wireless technologies are becoming increasingly important to our society. It is embedded either in our daily usage or in various industrial applications. Wireless technology is becoming invisible so that the consumers will be oblivious to which technology is used and only know that it works.

But there are also people who need to know how it works! Or want to know why it works. Or why it doesn't work.
It is all about Radio Frequency technology (RF)!

We have been organizing our successful course "Applied RF technology " since 2002 twice a year and for more than 470 course participants now. 83% of the course participants in recent years recommend this course to colleagues in similar positions.
Jan-Wim Eikenbroek and Mark Bentum (pictured above) joined right from the start as lecturers and being the authors of the course content. After 20 years they felt it was time for waving goodbye and we owe a huge respect for their great support and never missing any run of this course. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

This week we will organize our RF course for the 42nd time at ASTRON and we look forward to it. And in May we'll run an English-spoken edition. Check the Wireless Data Lab for more info. And again, with truly dedicated ASTRON colleagues supporting it! Ruling the waves as Maxwell once put it.
