Description: | The sequence of pictures shows the delivery at ASTRON of the liquid He-cryostat and test equipment for the 5 GHz MASER of the Technical University Twente, in November 1980. After tests in the original cryostat showed the expected performanse (see the picture with the bandpass characteristic of the MASER), the cryostat was disassembled (notice young Kees Brouwer and Jan Idserda watching this process) and the MASER was taken out and shown by Hans van der Meyde (TUTwente). The successful tests led to the official hand-over of the MASER as shown in the AJDI of November 15, 1980.
