Description: | The major goal of the WSRT test tracking run on the ESA Smart-1 spacecraft was to test a non-standard setup for S-band receiver and data acquisition rack, as well as to check the ephemerid-driven observation schedule and telescope pointing. In all respects the test was successful. As an additional bonus, we picked up an event of the S/C egress from an occultation. Diffraction pattern detected during this test is similar to what was detected by the Medicina and Metsähovi telescopes in the first test run in May 2006.
Observations were carried out in the frame work of EH019 project and KNAW – CAS grant for collaboration in Radio Astronomy in support of CHAHG’E mission.
