Alignment inspection on the Spectrometer Main Optics of MIRI

Submitter: Ad Oudenhuysen
Description: Six laser beams are traced inside the light path for the alignment inspection of the Spectrometer Main Optics of MIRI. This alignment inspection is performed to validate the requirements of vibration during launch of the JWST satellite, where MIRI will be part of. Six laser spots are imaged on the focal plane screen to verify their position before and after vibration. Reproducibility of the measurement setup was smaller than 0.5 pixel. The shift due to vibration is within the requirements of < 3 pixels.
