Description: | This week, ASTRON hosts the first international MeqTrees workshop, where a first group is trained in its use. The MeqTree system is a general tool for implementing the mathematical model of an instrument, and solving for its parameters. It was developed for LOFAR, but will also be used for other applications like SKADS simlation, and stabilizing optical telescopes. The picture illustrates the use of MeqTrees for radio telescopes, where each interferometer is represented by its own tree, but shares parameters (leaves) with the other trees in the apparent tangle at the top. |
