The End of the Analog Era

| Description: | The spectrum monitoring station on the roof of the 'bouwhal' at the WSRT recorded clearly the switching off of the analog TV channels in the night of 10 to 11 december 2006. It can also be seen that shortly after the shutdown of the analog channels a number of digital channels was switched on, most notably at about 780 MHz. The WSRT has been freed of some of the strongest interferers. The influence of the new digital broadcasts has to be investigated, but it expected to be less. |
